Omar Abdullah, President J&K National Conference, has welcomed the statement of President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari that some positive major developments will happen about Kashmir before the Parliamentary elections in India. Omar said this is a welcome statement coming from the Pakistan President and urged the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh to use all resources at his disposal to ensure that a sustainable, viable, honorable and acceptable solution to the Kashmir imbroglio is found at the earliest as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Omar said opportunity has knocked our door again to find a solution to the Kashmir issue and India should not lag behind in any way to help in the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He said ‘despite my repeated request to all the concerned quarters we missed an opportunity at the time of President Parvez Musharaf’ and if we miss this opportunity, history may not spare us for the blame.
