Accusing the Congress leadership for the miseries and sufferings of the people of North East and Jammu and Kashmir, Prof Bhim Singh, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, has said that the leadership in Delhi, may be Congress or the BJP, have never cared to find the genesis of the problem in Assam or Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing media persons here today, Prof Singh said ‘the national security is threatened in Assam because of the illegal migration of the Bangladeshis to the Indian side, whereas in Jammu and Kashmir the armed and fundamentalist elements have been flooding into the Indian slide. Why they have not been stopped is to be answered by the powers that be in Delhi, he asked?
About the resolution of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that Dr. Manmohan Singh’s advise to make LoC irrelevant, international and the ground realities have to be accepted and the people in PoK and Gilgit should be given an opportunity decide their future. ‘In case they decide in favour of Pakistan, LoC should be treated accordingly’, he remarked.
As far as regional problems are concerned, the state should be reorganized on the basis of culture, linguistic and geographical identity by amending Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, he said and added that all the three regions Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu, should be provided separate assemblies with a federal assembly for Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. |
