| Directorate of Industries & Commerce shifts to Udyog Bhawan | | | Early Times Reporter

The Directorate of Industries and Commerce Jammu was shifted to its new building, Jawahar Lal Nehru Udyog Bhawan at Rail Head Complex, Jammu today.
Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Mr. Pradeep Gupta informed that the building, the construction of which was started in 1997 was completed in June, 2008 at a cost of Rs.1448 lakh. The building comprises of ground plus 6 floors with a total built up area of 1.10 lakh sq.ft. It has a provision of parking in the basement. The building is provided with a fully air-conditioned conference hall with seating capacity for 50 persons and an auditorium with seating capacity for 175 persons with the state of art facilities.
With the commissioning of the building 11 departments under the umbrella of Industries and Commerce Department i.e. Industries and Commerce Department, Entrepreneurial Development Institute, J&K SICOP, Handicrafts Department, Handloom Development Department, J&K SIDCO, Geology and Mining Department, J&K Handloom Corporation, J&K Handicrafts (S&E) Corporation, J&K Minerals Ltd and J&K Cements Ltd. will be housed in the building.
The commissioning of the Udyog Bhawan will provide all required services to the industrial entrepreneurs under one roof. This has fulfilled a long pending demand of the Association of Industries, Gupta added. |
