A civilian was shot dead by unidentified gunmen, believed to be militants, in upper reaches of mountainous Doda district here today.
An official spokesman said, here today, that four militants led by one Javed son of Ghulam Ali barged into the house of Muhammad Iqbal son of Muhammad Hazam at Khavrulla Dandi, last evening.
The two sides, sources said, exchanged heated arguments followed a gunman opened fire killing Iqbal on the spot. Locals said that the militants charged the slain villager as being informer of the security forces. |
