Admonishingly belligerent, contentious, perverse, one may go on with never ending synonyms to honor the rather callous attitude of the valley leaders towards the Jammu region of the state. For some reasons the very same Kashmiri mindset that was perhaps not game to any monarchy or as a matter of fact took a stand against the so called? exploitation of the masses in the valley, seems to forget all of that when it comes to introspecting as to what they have been trying to do to Jammu ever since the 1947 act of accession ,and to top it all ,they seek? glory in backing it up with this age old rhetoric of some kind of a solution to the good old Kashmir Problem, when all this while perhaps none in the valley ever objected to the goodies that have been flowing into the valley from the centre for the past 62 years, but when it comes to agreeing with the idea of being Indian, then all of a sudden there is this great dialogue process that is conveniently spoken about.
I think the learned lot in the valley is well aware of the fact that charity begins at home, and if at all they have any sanity to claim that the so called Kashmir imbroglio is not being addressed by the centre the way it should be ,then they jolly well might introspect a little and try to do a balancing act by accepting this fact that if India is not right in Kashmir then perhaps Kashmir is grossly incorrect in Jammu and the data that has been produced in the print media in recent past backing the concern of Jammu ,says it all.
I think it’s about time that the valley leaders realized that right to self respect, dignity, equality and justice is not just a bonafide right of the Kashmiris but of all the subjects of the state, irrespective of the ethnicity or the region of the state they come from.
Before they ever talk of this exploitation and rights violation they should first try and with all impunity do a little introspection and actually come good with accepting this fact that not a stone has been left unturned in ensuring that rest of the? regions of the state are grossly ignored at the behest of the valley . |
