Nitya lauds players, hopes will shine at National, International tourneys
Soft Tennis Championship concludes

JAMMU, Jan 12: The District Soft Tennis Championship, organized by J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India concluded with award distribution among the winners of the tournaments held at Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts.
The sportspersons of Senior, Junior and Sub Junior categories participated in these events held from 04 to 11th January 2021.
In Junior girls category, Antekshika won the gold while Sidhani Singh clinched the silver medal and Shreemai Bhat got the bronze medal.
In Junior boys category, Samnyu Cyrish clinched the gold medal while Arnav Vaid won the silver and Rishabh Koul got the bronze medal.
In Sub Junior boys category, Shulin Koul won the gold while Madhavendra Singh clinched the silver and Hardeep Singh got the bronze medal.
In Junior Mixed Doubles, Arnav Vaid and Antekshika won the gold and Samnyu Cyrish and Sidhani Singh clinched the silver while Soham Bhat and Shreemai Bhat got the bronze medal.
PD Nitya (IPS), SP North Jammu, who was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, distributed medals among the winners. She highly appreciated the outstanding performance exhibited by the young players during the finals with an optimism that these uniquely talented players will shine at the National and International level tourneys.
RD Thakur, Academic Director KCPS and Sanjeev Sharma, Manager KCSC were the guests of honour while Arjun Choudhary, Director KCSC was special guest on the closing ceremony. Pertinently, these budding sportspersons are being trained by internationally recognized Coach Indu Bhushan, who is also Secretary Amateur Soft Tennis Association, Jammu district, at the KC Sports Club.
Dr Ghulam Hassan General Secretary, J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association elaborated on the objective of organizing these events saying that these are aimed at to promote Soft Tennis in rural parts of the UT of J&K by providing the budding sportspersons a perfect platform. He said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that these events are getting tremendous response from all areas. "Soft Tennis game has witnessed a notable progress and promotion in the past few years in the Union Territory of J&K due to the efforts of the Association and full support from the J&K Sports Council.
