| Mainstream parties shying of early polls: Andrabi | | | Early Times Report

Asserting that the recent developments in the state have made majority of the political parties in the state irrelevant, the SDP President Dr. Darakshan Andrabi said that all these mainstream political parties were busy in creating confusion among masses about the elections to the state Assembly by giving contradictory statements.
Addressing the party workers’ convention here today, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, said that the recent developments in the state have made majority of the political parties in the state completely irrelevant. She said the leaders of these political parties are preparing ground to shy away from the elections for a bigger gap and are trying to create an atmosphere that will have negative effect on the people's mindset when there are other elements who are hell bent upon distancing people from the democratic process in the state especially in the valley.
Dr Andarbi said that she was surprised to read the statement of Omar Abdullah that January is the proper time for elections. I want to remind Omar that January is the snow season and many areas of the state remain cut off during this month. Dr Andrabi said that ‘she wants the coming election result pave way for nationalists to enter the Legislature so that we don’t see the NC-PDP type of drama in the august house in future years’. |
