| Second damaged transformer to be operational by middle of next month | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sep 11
The second 133 MVA transformer,that was damaged at the Gladini grid station and had been sent for repairs to BHEL at Jhansi,is expected to reach Jammu towards the end of the current month,according to Power Commissioner,R.K.Seli. R,K.Seli today said that the transformer had been sent to Jhansi for repair two months ago.He said that the first transformer,which had been sent for repair,has been installed at the Gladini grid station and it would be functional within next 10 days. He said that once the second damaged transformer was installed at the grid station by the middle of next month the power scenario in the Jammu region will further improve depending on the availability from the power projects. Already 150 MVA transformer has been installed at the Gladini grid station a month ago and with this installation the power supply position in Jammu had considerably improved.Seli was of the opinion that after the installation of the second damaged transformer towards the middle of next month the optimum capacity of the grid station will increase to 550 MVA. |
