| Parents blame Doctor for infant’s death | | Doctors stage dharna; demand security for hospital staff | | Sarita Jamwal

A local couple and residents of Udhampur, who staged a protest demonstration in front of district hospital late last night, have alleged that newly born baby of Mohan Lal, a local labourer, died today due to the negligence of the doctor attending on him and demanded investigation into the matter.
Mohan Lal, resident of Rathian father of the infant alleged that their newly born baby had died in the hospital yesterday due to negligence of doctor attending his wife and for want of medical attention. He alleged that doctor also demanded money from poor family and demanded an inquiry into the incident
Meanwhile, the local police today exhumed dead body from local graveyard and a team of doctors conducted postmortem. Police also registered a case under section 174 CRPC in this regard
However, Superintendent of District hospital, denied the allegation and said that baby was born dead and with the timely action of doctor, who conducted minor operation, the woman was saved .Doctors of district hospital today suspended work and staged a dharna in hospital demanding security for the staff .However, the doctors called off the dharna on the assurance of the Deputy Commissioner, who visited hospital, and assured proper security to hospital staff. |
