| Azad holds `close door' worker's meet | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar | Sep 11
For the first time, after stepping down from power, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad held a closed door meeting with his party workers, here on Thursday. Azad arrived on a chopper, reportedly owned by JP Group of Companies, here this morning and straight away went to Dak Bunglow Kishtwar. A close door meeting between Azad and handful of Congress workers and leaders was held, which continued for more than an hour. Though the details of the meeting could not be ascertained, as media persons were kept out of the venue, sources said that Azad asked the party leaders to prepare themselves for the upcoming assembly elections, which are likely to be held in time. He also expressed his disappointment over the recent incidents of communal clashes in the area, which left two persons dead and over forty others wounded, beside loss to public and personal property. He urged the workers to work at the gross root level so as to restore the communal harmony and brotherhood in the area. |
