DB issues notice to BSNL in PIL

Division Bench of J&K High Court, Jammu Wing, comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Sunil Hali, in a Public Interest Litigation regarding poor service of BSNL, directed Chief General Manager BSNL that he shall furnish his own affidavit making it clear the transmission capacity vis-à-vis the consumers.
This direction was issued in a PIL filed by Salima Jaffer and others, who are subscribers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), for irregularities in service provided by the BSNL to its subscribers and seeking direction to the respondent BSNL to rectify the irregularities in the service provided to consumers.
Division Bench, after hearing Adv Rozina Afzal appearing for the PIL, issued notice to the respondents Union of India and Ors returnable within three weeks and directed Chief General Manager BSNL that he shall furnish his own affidavit making it clear the transmission capacity vis-à-vis the consumers and also directed the registry to list this case immediately after three weeks subject to availability of the bench.
