| RS.120 cr being spent on creation of tourism infrastructure | | | Early Times Report Srinagar | Sept 12
Under the Prime Minister's Reconstruction Programme, 22 Tourism Development Authorities (TDAs) covering almost all tourist destinations of the state have been provided with Rs. 120 crore each to be expanded over a period of 5 years for creation of tourism related infrastructure. Presently, 36 projects are under execution at a cost of 97.77 crore and so far Rs 29.54 crore have been spent on these. Under the program reconstruction of Pahalgam Club is going on at Rs. 7 crore, of which Rs. 3 crore have been spent so far while Rs. 12 crore is being expanded for construction of TRC complex at Nowgam, on which Rs. 2 crore have been spent so far. Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar Jammu has been completed at a cost of Rs. 6.50 crore while work on Food Craft Institute Jammu is going apace at a cost of Rs. 4.72 crore. Eco park at Baramulla and Zabarwan park at Srinagar have been completed costing Rs. 4 crore and Rs. 3.50 crore respectively. |
