| Several prominent figures join JSM; demand statehood for Jammu | | | Early Times Report

To further the cause of reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir state, many prominent figures of the region, on Friday joined the Jammu State Morcha( P), an organization spearheading the movement, and took a pledge to take the cause to its logical conclusion.
At a jam packed press conference organized here on Friday, many outstanding figures of Jammu joined JSM (P) and expressed their commitment to fight for the cause of reorganization of state to end the decades’ long discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh at the hands of Kashmir leadership.
Anil Gour, Bhimsen Gupta, K. G. Sawhney. M. M. Munshi, Mahesh Sharma, Vimal Gupta and Ravinder Gupta who joined the JSM, on the occasion, stressed upon reorganization of state by carving a separate Jammu State along with the states of Ladakh, and Kashmir and the creation of a separate security zone within the Kashmir Valley for Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities, as this, according to them was the only viable alternative left to solve the present imbroglio.
They said that in this new state of Jammu, people of all sections of the society and religions will have an equal participating role and opportunity for progress and growth along with the preservation of their individual identities.
‘The interests of all the communities will be safeguarded and they will be provided their due share in services and in all walks of life’, they added.
They said that the Amarnath Shrine land row has exposed the communal, secessionist, anti-India and anti-Jammu agenda of the Kashmiri leaders including those of the so-called mainstream parties like PDP, NC, CPI (M) and Indian National Congress. Their criminal silence on the issue of engineered communal and regional divide of the state, targeting of the non-Kashmiri Judges, Doctors, Engineers, Govt. employees, Students, Truck drivers and the laborers from rest of the country and forcing them to leave the valley has developed an atmosphere where it is difficult to reconcile, they observed.
JSM (P) is a Jammu based regional party whose aim for a separate Jammu State is to restore the pride and honor of the people of this region and ensure an equitable and honorable future for all communities to live in communal harmony and brotherhood. This separate Jammu State will end the exploitation and discrimination of Jammu region in all spheres of life that has been going on since the last 61years at the hands of the Kashmiri leadership, they observed. |
