OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF JK GOVT SAYS: BAIG still OCCUPies FOUR PLUM PORTFOLIOS INCLUDING FINANCE
9/10/2006 11:37:11 PM
Jammu, September 10 :
Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad may have been working tirelessly to fulfill his commitments and also instructed officials to carry out important works in double shifts but it seems babus are finding it difficult to match up to his efficiency level. A glaring example of non performance of duty is enough to bring home the point.
More than a one week after Muzaffar Hussain Baig resigned from the council of ministers he continues to occupy ministerial berth as all important cabinet minister, according to the official website of the Jammu and Kashmir Government.
Not even a single responsible officer has spared enough time to update the website providing latest details of the Azads council of Ministers to those who regulary visit official website of the state government to keep themselves updated.
It may be mentioned that Mr Baig had submitted his resignation to the Chief Minister,Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, on September 3 and the same was accepted by the Governor but despite this he occupies the top slot in the list of council of ministers in the Government website.
Not only this: the website continues to show 12-member council of ministers which, in fact had been formed in November 2005.
The website is yet to update the link which provides details of the council of ministers and their portfolios.
The council of ministers had been expanded on August 29 and despite the passage of 12 days there is no record of 10 new faces inducted in the council of ministers.
The concerned officials may take refuge saying that since portfolios of former Deputy Chief Minister were reallocated to Muftis blue eyed boy Mr Tariq Hameed Qarra on September 8 and there was no time to do the changes so as to save their skin. But questions maust be asked to those responsible for the job as to why portfolios of other council of ministers were not updated along with their bio date on the official website of the state government till now.
