| Govt asked to reconsider Kamal’s case | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sept 13
Permanent Invitee of J&K State Sports Council, Ranjit Kalra, highlighting the injustice caused to a gymnast, Kamal Singh Chib by denying him the opportunity to apply under SRO-369, has urged the state government to reconsider his (Kamal) job application. In a letter addressed to Advisor to the Governor (incharge Education and Sports) and other concerned officers, Kalra has requested for giving a fresh look at Kamal’s application. It may be recalled that Kamal’s application was rejected by the government taking plea that he had not accepted a job offered to him on earlier occasion. In fact, Kamal was offered a job under SRO-369 in the Education Department as Laboratory Assistant. However, he, in the process, improved his qualification and completed the graduation. He then again applied with the government to seek a job under sports quota, which he was denied quoting the unjustified reason that he cannot apply second time. “Since such cases have been considered on similar grounds by the government on earlier occasions, I, being associated with sports, request Dr S S Bloeria to please reconsider Kamal’s case in the interest of sports,” Ranjeet told. |
