Bloeria asks engineers to dream big, adopt modern techniques

Maintaining that dreaming big was imperative for achieving excellence, the Advisor to Governor; Dr. S. S. Bloeria has asked Engineering professionals to adopt modern techniques and latest developments in the field to achieve desirable results.
Dr. Bloeria was addressing galaxy of Engineers gathered to mark the 41st Engineers’ Day observed every year on birth anniversary of Engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Bharat Ratna
Saying that not many professional bodies organize themselves in such a manner as Engineers, Dr. Bloeria asserted that what matters is not the field to which you belong but professional competence, dedication and high ideals of achievement that one sets for himself.
Paying rich tributes to Engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Bharat Ratna, on his birth anniversary, Dr. Bloeria said that thinking big and need to dream is imperative to achieve anything, besides developing capacity to innovate and indianise.
Remembering the unknown engineers who by the dint of their hard work and utter dedication excelled in their profession to great heights, Dr. Bloeria suggested to incorporate their names in the newsletters or any other material published by Institution of Engineers (India) Jammu local Centre as their outstanding performances ought to be known by their colleagues and others. He stressed for adopting modern techniques, latest developments and maintaining high quality to achieve desirable results. He said qualities of creativity and resourcefulness, coupled with dignity of labour, is equally important as no engineer or professional can create something without dirting his hands.
On the Theme topic ‘ Planet Earth’ selected for the 41st Engineers’ Day, the Advisor said that in our society Earth has been equated with Mother in reverence, respect and gratitude one gives to mother. He said as both possess similar qualities of patience, love and forgiveness, they should be accorded similar treatment.
On the occasion, Dr. Bloeria presented R. L. Sharma Gold medal to Er. B. L. Rawal and Rudra Bhagwati Silver Medal to Er. Bhavana Sharma, for presenting the best and the second best technical paper respectively, during the year 2007-08. Mementoes were also presented to other engineers for presenting two or more than two technical papers in the year. Dr. Bloeria also released the Ist issue of 6th volume of quarterly newsletter of Jammu Centre.
Earlier, B. B. Gupta, Chairman of the Centre highlighted various problems of the engineers and emphasized on behalf of the engineering fraternity that to avoid stagnation amongst engineers, promotion orders should be issued on clear vacancies instead of adhoc promotions. He also advocated for running grades to all the engineers. He urged the government to remove discrimination while revising the pay scales while implementing 6th Pay Commission.
