Refrain from vitiating peaceful atmosphere, BJP warns Mehbooba
‘Stop meddling in the affairs of KP’s’: Khajuria asks Hurriyat

Jammu | Sept 15

Sharply reacting to the senseless opposition of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti to the suggestion of BJP National President Rajnath Singh that the Amarnath Yatra route should be nationalized, BJP State President Ashok Khajuria today asked those opposing this rational and national suggestion of the BJP to refrain from vitiating the state’s atmosphere for furthering their separatist and communal agenda. Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and the Hindus of the country have every right to put forth any such suggestion that prevents the communal forces in Kashmir to vitiate the holy Amarnath Yatra any more, he said the suggestion made by Rajnath Singh has to be viewed in the context of what the Kashmiri leaders did to outrage the Hindu sentiments by opposing the government decision to transfer a small piece of land at Baltal to SASB for setting up facilities for the yatris.
Khajuria also took to task the Hurriyat conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq for his fantastic opposition to the demand put forth by the displaced Kashmiri Hindus that a separate homeland should be created for them within the valley so that they could return to their original habitat and lead a peaceful and dignified life there. He said Kashmiri Pandits are the original inhabitants of Kashmir and that they enjoy equal rights with Kashmiri Muslims as far as their claim to the valley is concerned. Ashok Khajuria said that Kashmiri separatists, who consistently sing the Pakistani song and preach regressive and intolerant ideology, have no right to come in the way of the displaced Kashmiri Hindus, who have suffered enormously at the hands of the fanatics and whose single point agenda all along has been their total merger within the Indian national mainstream. He added that it would be better if the Kashmiri separatists and the likes of Mehbooba Mufti quit Kashmir and go to Islamabad which they hold very dear. He said as far as the BJP is concerned, it stands earmarking special piece of land within Kashmir for the displaced Hindus.
The BJP Chief also reiterated the stand of the party that Governor N.N. Vohra should invoke section 92 of the State Constitution forthwith, set up Delimitation Commission and give due representation to the people of Jammu in the state assembly. He asked the Jammu-based political parties to come forward so that a joint memorandum to this effect is submitted to the State Governor. At the same time, he asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to reject outright the poll deferment suggestion and hold the assembly election on time as the State Governor enjoys legislative powers and ask Delimitation Commission to delimit the constituencies within 30-40 days.
Regarding the cross LoC trade through the Uri-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawlakot routes, Ashok Khajuria urged the authorities in New Delhi not to go ahead with this proposal as the same is fraught with dangerous consequences, including threat to national security. At the same time, he strongly urged the concerned authorities to immediately open Suchetgarh-Sialkot route for trade between Jammu and Pakistan.
