State Vigilance Organization has produced challan in the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir against Mohammed Maqbool Dar, the then Supervisor CA&PD Circle Kulgam, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income valuing Rs.25.23 lakhs Following inputs that Mohammed Maqbool Dar had raised huge assets by indulging in corrupt practices, including a residential house and a shopping complex at Kulgam and another house at Ashmuji Kulgam, besides acquiring a double storied house at Nowabad Jammu, the Vigilance Organization registered a case and took up the investigation. In the course of investigation material evidence about his legitimate sources of income and movable and value of immovable property was collected. It was revealed that value of his assets is estimated to be Rs.27.80 lakhs while as his gross salary during the check period was only Rs.3.69 lakhs. The official did not have any other source of income except his salary. While calculating his savings, 70% of the salary has been allowed as savings. Still the income during the check period did not increase Rs.2.5 lakhs against the value of movable and immovable assets of Rs.27.80 lakhs. Thus his property was found disproportionate to the tune of Rs.25.30 lakhs. These assets were found to have been raised by the official by misuse of his official position and by indulging in the corrupt practices. The Challan of the case was produced along with the accused person after accord of sanction for prosecution by the Government. |
