| PK ridicules Soz’s statement; describes it jugglery of words | | Agnishekhar justifies Homeland demand | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sept 16
Taking serious note of the statement of the state Congress president and union minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz, describing demand of separate Homeland for Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir as preposterous and disruptive move, Panun Kashmir has expressed serious anguish over the attempts by Soz to mislead and misrepresent the facts. In an executive meeting of Panun Kashmir chaired by convener Dr. Agnishekhar, members expressed serious anguish over the attempts by Prof.Saifuddin Soz to mislead and misrepresent the facts about Panun Kashmir. Dr. Agnishekhar ridiculed the statement of Prof. Soz that Kashmiri Pandits were an integral part of the Kashmiri society and that every Muslim was keen for their return. Terming it as a mere jargon and jugglery of words having no honesty of intention at all, Dr. Agnishekhar said that if this was true then the exodus of the entire Kashmiri Pandit society would not have taken place. Justifying the demand for creation of separate Homeland, with union territory status, he said that Kashmiri Pandits had always tried to coexist and contributed to the overall development and evolution of the Kashmiri culture and society. It is the Theo- fascist forces that have always rejected coexistence with Kashmiri Pandits on the basis of faith and subjected them to repeated forced migrations in the past, the latest being the seventh migration. Senior leader Daya Kishen Koul said that Kashmiri Pandits can no more be cowed down by Mirwaiz Omar, Geelani, Mehbooba and Soz by raising hue and cry about the just and genuine rights of Kashmiri Pandits who have the first right over Kashmir being the aborigines of the place. National spokesman Virender Raina said that in response to our demand for damages suffered by Kashmiri Pandits during past nineteen years amounting to rupees 28000 crore, at the rate of Rs. 50 lakhs per family, Government was misled by Prof. Soz in announcing a ridiculous package of Rs. 7.5 lakhs. This package was rejected abinitio by the community and it is unfortunate that Soz has distorted the facts and misled the nation saying that a package has been announced for the community. Members resolved to intensify their struggle and reach out to the masses across the country and abroad. Sanjay Dattattrya General Secretary was entrusted by the executive to coordinate with the other units in the country. |
