Prof Hari Om
J&K BJP’s vice president and spokesperson, Prof Hari Om, an ace writer, is also a teacher of History at Jammu University. How you entered into politics and why chose BJP? Well, I am still a professor in Jammu University and it will remain my first priority. As a professor of History, I read and wrote a lot about the sub-continent. It got me into politics and for that matter, BJP is the only national party which have concrete agenda and programme like justice to all and appeasement to none. You remained out of party for a brief period? I never was out. Yes, as a spokesperson of the party, I used to remain in touch with media and others, but for a brief period, when new chief took over I was not too active due to some pressing engagements. I am in BJP and will remain as a true soldier. How you keep your balance between Politics, profession and family life? I have kept an equal balance between my Political career, profession and family life as each one of it is dearer to me. Sometimes it becomes difficult to balance, but try to manage it. Your party wants an early poll, why? My party wants that the polls should be held in time, i.e November-2008. Any delay in elections, will strengthen the separatists agenda as they want to defer it like other mainstream parties of state. |
