National Mazdoor Conference demands de-freezing of DA

JAMMU, Feb 4: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revoke its earlier order in freezing of DA payable to Centre, State and UT Government employees and pensioners due from Jan 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
Subash Shastri said that recognizing the great contribution of these brave corona warriors they appeal them to withdraw the order debars pensioners, employees release of 4 per cent announced by Central Government and also release and other instalments of 5% DA due from July 1,2020 and 5% DA Due from January1,2021,to them so that corona warriors would get sigh of relief from rising prices, inflation and COVID-19 pandemic.
"Both central, state and UT employees are the forefront of battle against COVID-19 pandemic risking their safety and life are doing extra ordinary service to the nation by taking enormous risks," said Shastri and others while addressing of meeting of NMC activists here. They pointed out that dearness relief is not wage increase its just a compensation against the erosion of real wages and the cost of living and inflation and this is the only source with them to cater the dearness needs.
They further said that freezing of DA will severely impact life and living of the salaried class and pensioners demanded an early revoking of DA freezing order. They also urged the LG UT Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha to ensure timely disbursement of pending wages for years together and hope that UT Jammu and Kashmir Government shall also earmark separate wage heads for regularly disbursement of monthly salary till their regularization, beside implementation of minimum wage act to JKUT working class. Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Ramesh Sharma, Tarsem Sharma, Gardhari Lal Bhagat, Darshan Bawa, Gara Ram and J.P.Sharma and Sarpanch Sukhdev singh also spoke on the occasion.
