Babu Singh asks students to be a role model for the society
2-day seminar on problem of youth & Path ahead in Kashmir concludes

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 10 :
Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports Mr Babu Singh has said that need of the hour is to give a new direction to emerging force of educated youth by providing them moral and value based education so that they can be a role model for their village, town and society as a whole.
The Minister was addressing at a valedictory function of 2-day seminar on “Problem of Youth and Path ahead in Kashmir”. The seminar was organized by the All India centre for Urban and Rural Development at Kashmir University here today.
He said youth not only Kashmir valley but all over India are desperate situation due to lack of proper value based educational system. He said youth are the future of the society and they must concentrate on positive thinking to bring the society out of the wilderness of social bickering.
He said the education has the basic components comprising human resources and natural resources which needs to be evolved in the modern education system. He said time demands universalization of education system so that every child n the society gets equal opportunity of standard education. He said nations heading towards global society and an era of inter dependency has taken place and we can only sustain in this scenario when we evolve global based education for our youth.
Replying to some questions raised by the students, Mr Singh asked them instead finding faults in others they should concentrate on collective efforts to tackle the problems facing the society especially younger generation in the prevailing scenario in the state. He said gun and violence has no place in the civilized society as the history has time and again proved that dialogue and mutual understanding has always taken lead in solving the human problems.
He said government under the dynamic leadership of Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed to safeguard the fundamental rights of every individual and at the same time efforts have been made to carry on peace process by creating a congenial atmosphere to strengthen confidence building measures initiated by both India and Pakistan for solving the vexed Kashmir issue.
Underscoring the need for creating an atmosphere, the Minister stressed for a close rapport between teachers, students and parents to bridge widening gap between the generations.
Other personalities who participated in the seminar and expressed their view points on the topic include Director Youth Services and Sports, Mr Ravinder Gupta, Dr. Gopala Krishan, Dr. Nisar Ali, Dr. S.N. Dhar and Dr. Qureshi. A large number of students of Kashmir University also shared their view points and took part in answer question session.
