| Shivani, Harjot return from advance course in climbing | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sept 17 Promising climbers from the state, Shivani Raj Kaith and Harjot Kour returned here after attending the first phase of Advance Level Training at Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi, the apex body for adventure sports in India. These two J&K girls were among eight female climbers selected from the country on the basis of their performance at the national level. “The 26-day training was conducted for the selection of suitable Indian team for participation in the Asian Youth Championship scheduled to be organized from October 31 to November Ist at Japan,” Dr C K Khajuria told SAN. Both the climbers have been kept in reserve and are likely to attend the second phase of training scheduled to be conducted by Indian Mountaineering Foundation from October seven to October 29, for final selection of the Indian team. While Shivani Raj is the reigning national champion in Lead Climbing, Harjot Kour has been twice runners-up in Lead Climbing in the nationals, informed Dr Khajuria. |
