| CONG- PDP TUSSLE WILL HELP BJP: DR ABDULLAH | | | Jammu,September 10 :
Patron of the National Conference and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah has predicted that ongoing political situation in Jammu and Kashmir will help Bharatiya Janta party in the next Assembly elections.
Talking to reporters after the book release function in the premises of Academy of Art and Literature on Sunday, DrAbdullah said, the present tug of war between the two coalition partners will help Bhartiya Janta party in the next Assembly elections.
Dr Abdullahs statement is significant in the light of the recent forecast made by the columnist and former Union Minister Arun Nehru where he had predicted that anti incumbency factor will help National Conference in Kashmir valley and BJP in Jammu region during 2008 Assembly polls.
Earlier speaking at the book release functiuon titled Siraj-a;-Qassas - Dr Abdullah came down heavily on American policy of targeting Muslim countries in the name of war against terrorism.
He said, Islam has nothing to do with those carrying out militant attacks all over the world.
No religion in the world spreads terror, he thundered on the top of his voice.
Condemning recent attack outside mosque in Malegaon in Maharashtra DrAbdullah said a faceless enemy is living within our country and is trying hard to divide us on communal lines.
He said, there is a definite gameplan to divide us and we must be alert.
He said people across religions have now understood the conspiracy of those working behind dividing communities and are prepared to thrash them to fail their designs.
He also appealed to the Muslim community to stay united and not to fight within themselves observing that Muslim community has lot of dissension withinthemselves and the same doesnot augur well for the community as a whole.
Several senior NC leaders including Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari,Surjit Singh Salathia, Javed Rana, and were present at the book release funtion.
Introducing the book to the audience, Syed Mushatq Ahmed Bukhari said,the author of the book Siraj-al-Qassas Syed Moulvi Habib Ullah Shah Bukhari was a great saint of 19 century and had come from Kaghan Hazara to spread Islam in this region particularly in Rajouriu and Poonch.He said for about half a century Hazrat Moulvi Habib-Ullah Shah Bukhari preached Islam by speeches and writings.He said, his followers are spread over district Rajouri,Poonch and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir including Pulwama and Anantnag. His other books and work shall be published very soon, Bukhari concluded while welcoming the guests on the occasion. |
