| AG J&K holds debate competition | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sept 18 In connection with the ongoing four-day Hindi Diva 2008 celebrations, Accountant General Jammu and Kashmir organized an inter-departmental debate competition involving participants from Central Government Departments to express their views with regard to official language `Hindi’. The debate competition was presided over by Principal Director Regional Training Institute Jammu, B S Hira. In the debate competition, Dr Raj Kumar from University of Jammu and Dr Neeru Sharma from J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages acted as judges. On the basis of results declared by the penal of judges, the organizers awarded the winners with cash prizes as an incentive of the official language. Earlier, the Hindi Divas 2008 started at Accountant General J&K from September 16 to propagate the use of official language `Hindi’ among the employees of the office. On the opening day, an essay competition was held among the departmental staff. The function was presided over Deputy Accountant General, Y J Dassi from Srinagar office. On the second day yesterday, poem recitation competition was held wherein staff members took part actively. |
