JK reports 91 new cases of Corona Virus; one death, positive cases reach 1, 25,208

SRINAGAR, Feb 12: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 91 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 25,208. The death toll reached 1,948 following a fresh death in the Jammu division.
Srinagar district reported 26 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 14 cases, Baramulla and Poonch districts 11 cases each, Pulwama district five cases, Kulgam, Shopian, Udhampur and Samba districts three cases each, Budgam, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Rajouri districts two cases each and Anantnag, Bandipora, Doda & Kishtwar districts one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 91 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 35 from Jammu division and 56 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 25,208. Also one COVID-19 deaths has been reported from Jammu division.
Moreover, 84 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including three from Jammu division and 81 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 25,208 positive cases, 634 are active positive, 1, 22,626 have recovered and 1,948 have died; 723 in Jammu division and 1,225 in Kashmir division.
Out of 47, 99,891 test results available, 46, 74,683 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 12, 04,485 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 33,635 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 634 in isolation and 1, 05,495 in home surveillance. Besides, 10, 62,773 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,465 positive cases, 211 active positive, 25,795 recovered, 459 deaths; Baramulla has 8,153 positive cases, 31 active positive, 7,947 recovered, 175 deaths; Budgam has 7,814 positive cases, 40 active positive, 7,656 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,778 positive cases, 41 active positive, 5,649 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,670 positive cases, five active positive, 5,569 recovered, 96 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,949 positive cases, 44 active positive, 4,819 recovered, 86 deaths; Bandipora has 4,702 positive cases, 19 active positive, 4,621 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,657 positive cases, 53 active positive, 4,557 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,707 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,636 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,583 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,529 recovered, 40 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,065 positive cases, 76 active positive, 24,617 recovered, 372 deaths; Udhampur has 4,235 positive cases, 32 active positive, 4,146 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,872 positive cases, four active positive, 3,813 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,436 positive cases, six active positive, 3,366 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,256 positive cases, 3203 recovered, 53 deaths.
"Samba has 2,835 positive cases, nine active positive, 2,786 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,733 positive cases, one active positive, 2,710 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,518 positive cases, 23 active positive, 2,471 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,135 positive cases, two active positive, 2,112 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,645 positive cases, six active positive, 1,624 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 25,208 positive cases in J&K, 11,872 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
