| CS asks HoDs to pull socks | | | Early Times Report Srinagar | Sept 18 Stressing on field visits for regular monitoring of developmental works, the Chief Secretary S.S. Kapur Thursday asked the Administrative Secretaries to make field visits and inspection of works a regular feature to ensure completion of schemes in consonance with specifications and prescribed time frame. The Chief Secretary was addressing Administrative Secretaries to Government at a meeting here to review the functioning of various departments and receive feedback about the pace of progress on developmental schemes. Among others the meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Planning and Development, S.L. Bhat, Principal Secretary Forest, M.I. Khanday, Principal Secretary, PHE. A.K. Angurana, Principal Secretary Law A.H. Kochak, Principal Secretary Social Welfare, R.K. Jerath, Commissioner/Secretary General Administration Department, Bashrat Ahmad Dhar. Kapur underlined the importance of regular flow of feedback about various government decisions, developmental schemes and other significant issues and asked the Administrative Secretaries to focus attention on this aspect so that reports are received on periodical basis. The Administrative Secretaries were also directed to take decisions on spot in order to remove the constraints telling upon the execution of developmental works. He said that wherever necessary, matters should be reported to Planning and Finance Departments for early clearance and appropriate directions. The Chief Secretary also directed for constituting inspection squads which could inspect the field offices, check the attendance and report to the General Administration Department (GAD) accordingly. He called for prompt response to adverse press reports by the concerned Departments to present factual position on the issue. |
