Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 12: BJP president Ravinder Raina and other politicians violated all rules by installing stars on the shoulders of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySPs) and Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) during attestation cum passing-out-parade of at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was chief guest in the function in which three DySP (Prob.) and 583 PSIs, including 553 males and 30 females completed their rigorous training.
Oath was administered to the passing out cadets for performing their duties with dedication and honesty.
Eye-witnesses said that as soon as Lieutenant Governor left the venue after completion of the function, BJP president and other politicians mingled with the passing out DySPs and PSIs and started installing stars on their shoulders.
The BJP president not only installed starts on their shoulders but also posted pictures on the social media accounts. Social media flooded with comments of the people who took strong exception to the action of the BJP president and other politicians.
Eye-witnesses further revealed that senior police officers faced embarrassment after the action of the BJP president who was clicking pictures with officers after passing out parade.
Earlier BJP president had embarrassed the then Governor Satya Pal Malik as Apna Banda (Own Man) in the month of August, 2018 when Mr Malik was appointed as Governor of J&K.
Raina had claimed “Naya Governor Apna Banda Hai (the new Governor is our man)”.
Raina had made these remarks while attempting to pacify a group of people of his constituency Nowshera in Rajouri district. The agitated group was accusing him of failing in his duties as an MLA to bring development in the area.
