| 5 involved in Poonch agitation get bail | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Sept 18 Justice Sunil Hali of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today granted interim bail in favour of Ashok Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Chander Mohan Sharma, Amit Kumar and Om Parkash, all residents of Poonch, who were arrested by the police in connection with allegedly indulging in stone pelting on a procession of majority community and also indulging in commission of alleged offences u/s 147/148/332/336/353/392/427 and 436 RPC. Justice Hali, after hearing Sr. Adv SS Lehar along with Advocates BS Salathia, LK Moza, SK Puri appearing for the petitioner and AAG SC Gupta appearing for the State, issued notice and observed that in view of the legal position of the proviso to section 497-B prima-facie, court is satisfied that the petitioners are entitled to bail as two weeks time has admittedly expired and investigation has not been completed. Court directed that the petitioner shall be released on interim bail subject to furnishing of bail bond to the tune of RS 20,000 with surety of like amount before Registrar Judicial of High Court for a period of one week.
