Student holds Union election 2020-21 at GCW

Udhampur, Feb 15: Student Union Election 2020-2021 was held in Govt. College for Women, Udhampur, under the enlightenment of Principal of College, Minu Mahajan, convener of Student Welfare Committee Sumita Rao and in the presence of observers Seema Sharma (HOD Music), A.K. Raina (HOD Hindi), Kewal Kumar (HOD Chemistry).
Out of 53 class representatives, students were elected under different posts. Sangeeta Kumari as president from semester V, vice president Ayushi Sharma from semester III, secretary Vardika Katal from semester III, Bandhu Joint Secretarty from semester Ist, Shreya Sharma as Treasurer from Sem III, Joint Treasurer Shilpa Sharma from Semester Ist, Sambika Sharma as Convener from Semester V, Kiran Gupta as General Secretary from Semester V and Swabhi Mahajan as Cultural Secretary of Sem V were elected.
President of the Elected Student Council, Sangeeta Kumari from Semester V expressed her gratefulness and promised to work with dedication for the welfare of institution. “I decided to run for election because I was passionate about the impact that student activities can have on students and I wanted to promote this as much as possible. Being a student representative is so rewarding especially when you see the change and the impact that you are having on students during their time in college”, she added. The Elected Student Council promised to work for the progress of the institution with dedication and honesty. Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College extended her blessings on all the elected students. Members of Student Welfare Committee present during the Student Union Election were Suneel Singh Baryehan, Sanjeev Upadhyay, Meena Gupta, Tania Mahajan, Roopa Kumari, Shaveta Sharma and Neeru Devi Anand.
