| HSS Gandhi Nagar wins kabaddi, BSF School volleyball titles | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 20: The volleyball title went to Border Security Force (BSF) Higher Secondary School (HSS) Paloura, while Government Higher Secondary School Gandhi Nagar claimed the kabaddi final in the two-day inter-school boys under-19 competitions organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Government Girls HSS Bakshi Nagar, here today.
In the volleyball final, BSF School trounced HSS Bakshi Nagar in straight sets while HSS Gandhi Nagar outplayed HSS Paloura by a margin of 23 points to clinch the kabaddi title.
Earlier, in kabaddi semi-finals, HSS Paloura defeated HSS Mandal while HSS Gandhi Nagar beat SRML Higher Secodnary School. In volleyball semi-finals, BSF School beat HSS Paloura and HSS Bakshi Nagar beat HSS Jullakha Mohalla.
In other event of kho-kho, only one team turned up for participation. Finding no competitor, the organizers declared the present team as winner making the school eligible to represent Jammu district in inter-district competitions to be held in near future.
Meanwhile, the scheduled competitions in wrestling could not take place.
Among those present in today’s finals were R C Vaid, Usha Jamwal and Surinder Singh. |
