ASCOMS doctors on indefinite strike
9/20/2008 11:27:12 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 20: Following failure of talks with the management regarding hike in salaries, all the senior and Junior Doctors of Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu, have gone on indefinite strike from today.
In a press release the All Residents Doctors Association of ASCOMS & Hospital said ‘that they have reached this decision after receiving very obnoxious and degrading remarks from H.L. Maini (Trustee Administration) regarding their job and position in this thankless Institution for years at very minimum pay and other facilities’.
To end the deadlock the Association approached D V Batra vice president of the trust and sought her immediate intervention in getting their demands regarding release of pay, 40 per cent hike in salary and early release of incentives and timely payment of increments conceded at the earliest.
In the meantime senior faculty and the Para-medical staff union have also assured their full support and solidarity with the striking doctors.
