| NCC organizes camp at Nagrota | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 21: The NCC, Pre Thal Sainik Camp 2008 is being conducted at Nagrota under the aegis of NCC Directorate of J&K. The camp schedule is in consonance with the aims of the NCC wherein the cadets are put through a tough curriculum comprising of yoga, firing, obstacle training, first aid, map reading, living camping accommodation layout and tent pitching. Approximately 600 boys and girls belonging to different regions of the state i.e Ladakh, Kashmir, Bhaderwah and Jammu are attending the camp. In spite of busy camp schedule, cadets also utilize this opportunity to understand and learn different cultures of the state, an aspect soothingly visible in the evenings when the camp environment echoes with regional folk songs and dances being prepared by the cadets for the National level cultural competition. Brig S K Sharma, Deputy Director General NCC J&K visited the camp and addressed the cadets prior to their departure for participation at New Delhi. Brig Sharma highlighted the virtuous qualities of courage, truthfulness etc to be developed by young cadets. He wished all NCC cadets of the state of J&K “Best of Luck and Good Wishes.” |
