EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 21: Expressing deep concern over the yesterday’s incident which unfortunately occurred at Abhinav Theatre, the NC provincial president Ajay Sadhotra, while addressing a party meeting here today, said that ‘in the aftermath of Government and Samiti agreement, such developments are unfortunate and do not help in creating atmosphere of peace. He further said that party leaders and workers must remain vigilant in combating the elements which encourage divisive politics in the state and called upon the different political parties to rise to the occasion and play their role in strengthening the unity and harmony among all the sections and for strengthening state's integration. Regarding the 48 hour Bandh call given by Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti, he said his party honour the sentiments of the masses, but such frequent Bandhs should not become a permanent feature, as such protests / bandhs harm the day-to-day life of common citizens, students, daily earners, transporters, industrialists, shopkeepers and moreover, shatter the economy of the state. Those who attended the meeting included Rattan Lal Gupta, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Ram Paul, Ch. Talib Hussain, Jagjeevan Lal, Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Ch. Mohammad Hussain, Chander Mohan Sharma, Mahinder Gupta, Th. Kashmira Singh, Pardeep Bali and Vijay Lochan. In the meanwhile Sangarsh, a movement for Justice, Equality, Peace, Prosperity and Brotherhood has also condemned the police action at Abhinav Theatre, here yesterday and demanded a judicial probe into the incident besides initiating strict action against the police officials responsible for letting loose a reign of terror on the innocent and peace loving citizens. |
