| Plea to strengthen ISM in J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 21: The Forum of Life members of J&K Ayurvedic Congress has impressed upon Governor N N Vohra to strengthen the Indian System of Medicines (ISM) in the State at the grass-root level by filling up the vacant posts. In a meeting of the Ayurvedic Congress held under the convenorship of Dr Vinod Sharma, it was opined that the ISM department could flourish only under the single Directorate while looking after all the wings including Auyrveda, Unani, Sidha and Homopathy (AYUSH). `` As the department is very small, hence the spirit of AYUSH is in total integration and not its segregation’’, the meeting asserted, while assailing all those elements who were trying to divide the department on communal lines. Other demands which were highlighted during the meeting included enhancement of budget for ISM department, sanction staff for 45 single handed dispensaries, regulatrisation of all the employees, creation of the posts of CMO (ISM), Deputy CMO, Assistant Director Yoga and Homeopathy and also the posts of B-grade specialists at district level. |
