9/21/2008 11:22:39 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 21: Refusing the extending the date of filing of income tax returns by central board of direct taxes pertaining to audit related cases, the various representative of Trade bodies shared their grave concern and urged the President, Chamber of Commerce & Industry Ram Sahai to take up the issue again by involving the national premier organizations like FICCI, CII and PHDCCI as it has become very difficult to get the balance sheets audited at a short tiem.
Due to curfews and Bandhs for the last two months and continued closure of banking activities for 40 days have left the assesses with no other alternative than to ask for this extension.
Responding to this unusual situation President CCI assured that the matter is being taken up seriously beside that Chamber is also in touch with the President of the Chartered Accountants Organization for seeking the required extension.
