| Religious code can’t be threshed: Sham | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 23: The general secretary of JKNPP and Sr. advocate Ghulam Mohammad Sham has cautioned the Hurriyat Conference leaders about their hasty and callous remarks reflecting on the secular character of Kashmiriyat. He said that religious code of conduct cannot be threshed on the political system particularly in a secular democracy which has a commitment to the respects ethos to preserve and promote composite culture which also reflects all religious ethos to preserve and promote composite culture which also reflects the grandeur of the thousands of old traditions of Kashmir known as Kashmiriyat. Sham reminded the Mirwaiz that Jammu & Kashmir is a secular state and no institution including a bank can be disciplined in the name of any religious system, and added that Prof. Bhim Singh, chairman of the party had very respectfully conveyed these feelings to Mirwaiz. His contributions in the middle east and particularly in Iraq and Palestine has brought highest commendations for his role in support of the Arabs against Zionist and US aggression. |
