| JSM demands pay parity for PHE workers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 23: Jammu State Morcha (P) has urged the people of Jammu region to denounce, both the Kashmir based as well national political parties, and choose a regional party of Jammu which can get justice to them and fight for a separate Jammu State. Addressing a meeting of the party activists, JSM president Virender Gupta said that Morcha is a secular regional party of Jammu Province which believes that only a separate Jammu State is the way out to meet the aspirations of the people of Jammu region along with getting freedom, justice and putting an end to all the discrimination being faced by Jammu people. The meeting, among others, was attended by Abdul Rouf Gani, Sr. Vice President, Capt. Anil Gour (Retd), Vice President & Spokesman, Digvijay Singh, Secy General, Divender Singh Jamwal, Gen. Secy, Balwinder Singh, Secy, Chandra Uday Sharma, Secy, Press & Publicity and Mahesh Sharma The Morcha also criticized the step motherly treatment being meted out to the CP / Consolidated Workers of PHE Jammu region, which have not been paid any wages for the last ten months. The meeting also condemned the previous Congress – PDP coalition of the criminal negligence on the part of the PHE and other departments for denying equal wages to the same category of workers from Kashmir and Jammu and demanded that the Governor should immediately issue necessary instructions to his Advisors to immediately ensure that these workers of Jammu region also get the same wages as that of their Kashmiri counterparts with arrears from the dates it was enhanced for Kashmiri Workers. |
