| Father gets lifer for son’s murder | | | SARITA JAMWAL
UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: The Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur, A.K Shan , today convicted accused retired Girdawar Govind Ram son of Gopal Singh resident of Chak Udhampur under Section 302 ,201 RPC and 30 Arms Act and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of rupees 20,000 for brutally murdering his real son, Ajeet Singh, two years back at Chak village of Udhampur district .
According to the prosecution story, there was dispute between deceased and accused over some trees and on June 1, 2006 when the accused had gone to the market, the deceased taking chance cut the trees for fire wood. When accused returned back from market he heard sound of cutting wood and took his licensed 12 bore gun and shoot his son to death and later went to a nearby shopkeeper narrating that he has killed his son
On getting information, the then SHO police station Rehmbal, Rajinder Sharma registered case against accused and conducted the investigation .The investigation revealed that deceased has been murdered by his father and case of murder was registered against him and challan was presented in the court.
Awarding sentence, the Judge held that the prosecution has succeeded fairly to prove the guilt of the accused by clinching and believable evidence, and he is held guilty for the commission of offence punishable under law. |
