| Railway land acquisition cases reviewed in Ramban | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAMBAN, Sept 23: Deputy Commissioner, A D Shanas today convened a meeting of officers of IRCON Internationals and Revenue Department to review the progress on land acquisition cases of Railways. Assistant General Manager IRCON, Banihal, briefing about the ongoing Railway works in Banihal posed certain problems impending the work of laying railway track. The DC directed Tehsildar Banihal to get LB-10 cases verified pertaining to Krawa to Zanihal and Kaskote Railway Track and report within two days. He also directed concerned Railway Officers to report as to how they have made payment directly to Forest Department in respect of Nachillana to Bhatta and Digdole to Urinahal railway track without any orders from Collector Land Acquisition. IRCON officers were also directed to immediately get the damaged irrigation channel repaired at camp Krawa so that the local people may not suffer shortage of irrigation water Later, the DDC conducted surprise inspection of various offices of Banihal including Emergency Hospital, Government Degree College, GHSS, CDPO office, BDO office, ZEO office and office of Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Banihal. During the inspection I/c Principal Government Degree College Banihal and CDPO Banihal were found absent. Upon enquiry it was given out that the officers had gone on some official assignment but no movement register was there to show their tour program. The DC directed Tehsildar, Banihal to conduct proper inquiry into the matter and furnish report about the whereabouts of these officers. |
