| Educational institutions reopen in Kashmir after floods | | |
Srinagar, Sep 11 All educational institutions in the Kashmir valley reopened today after remaining closed for nine days due to devastating floods.
Normal attendance was registered in all the schools and colleges across the valley today. However, attendance in the areas affected by flood was less, official sources said, adding flood water had entered a number of schools in south Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Pulwama.
The divisional authorities announced a two-day closure of all the educational institutions from September three after a number of villages in Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar and Badgam districts were submerged due to floods. However, as the flood situation worsened, the closure of educational institutions was extended till September nine.
