| MHAC Nagbani wins inter-school Baksetball title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 23: Sailing on the superb performance from Rohni and Raviraj, the MHAC School Nagbani today clinched the inter-school girls under-19 basketball title beating JK Public School in a one-sided contest at Mini-Stadium, Parade here. Dressed in red, Nagbani girls dominated the court right from the beginning with first quarter unbeaten lead (8-2) in their favour. However, the JK Public girls, in blue jersey, played good game but failed in their attempts on the basket most of the time. The score was itself indicative of how Nagbani girls dominated the court, relying on the two main strickers of Rohini and Raviraj. Both these star strikers scored six points each.The final score: 14-06. Earlier, to make it into the final, JK Public School trounced Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi in a one-sided match 24-10. In all, only three teams turned up for the under-19 year girls competition. Meanwhile, in under-17 girls basketball event, only JK Public School team reported to the organizers at the venue, resulting into the school declared district champion uncontested. Now, J&K Public School shall represent Jammu district in under-17 year age group and MHAC Nagbani in under-19 category. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the basketball competitions took place under the guidance of Vishal Salathia, Physical Education Teacher (PET). |
