| NC demands survey of paddy loss | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 26: National Conference is committed for the welfare and betterment of farmers and downtrodden, said Ajay Sadhotra, Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu province while addressing a public meeting at Haripur in Tawi Island area of Marh Assembly Constituency. Sadhotra demanded special Girdwari for the paddy crop damaged due to drought and acute shortage of irrigation water. He said it is unfortunate that government is not taking care of the farmers and farmers are feeling themselves as neglected lot of the society. He reiterated that National Conference has always made its best efforts to ensure upliftment and betterment of the farmers and down trodden. He said farmers and the downtrodden people are the backbone of the society and it is very essential that every government looks after the farmers and the downtrodden, but it is unfortunate that the coalition government in the state ignored this lot of society resulting that this lot has suffered a lot. He cautioned the people against BJP which is bent upon dividing different communities for their petty political gains. He said BJP is taking Jammu for granted and exploiting the people of Jammu for their vote politics. He asked the BJP not to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of Jammu and do not exploit, when reality comes out, it seems that the people of Jammu are suffering due to wrong done by BJP during its rule in Delhi. He said National Conference is committed for the speedy development of all the three regions of the state, upliftment of all the sections of the society, he said NC is custodian of the rights of the people of Jammu and expressed hope that in the coming elections people of Jammu shall prefer National Conference to other parties which are only trying to exploit the people for their vested interests. Among others who spoke in the meeting included Subash Sharma, Bishan Dass, Raghubir Singh, Kuldeep Sharma, Th. Dass Sarpanch, Shyam Mehra, Vinod Bhalla, Garu Ram, Master Hans Raj, Yog Raj, Tara Chand, Shiv Ram and Shemsher Singh. |
