BSP counts UPA failures
9/26/2008 11:15:19 PM
SARITA JAMWAL
UDHAMPUR, Sept 26: As part of its program to organize district level rallies in Jammu and Kashmir to create awareness about the programs and policies of the party as also the failures of the Congress led UPA government at the centre to tackle unemployment and inflation, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) held a rally here on Friday .
Addressing the rally, BSP national general secretary and in charge Jammu and Kashmir affairs Narinder Kashyap held the Congress responsible for the steep hike in the prices of essential commodities, unemployment among youth and miserable condition of the poor.
Claiming that only the BSP could take care of all the sections of society, Kashyap said the Congress was running its government at the centre with the support of big industrialists and was framing its policies to appease them.
Further claiming that BSP president Mayawati would be the next Prime Minister, he alleged that some BJP Lok Sabha members either voted in favour of the UPA government or abstained from voting at the time of a trust motion presented by the Manmohan Singh government in Parliament in an attempt that the BSP chief could not become the Prime Minister.
Addressing the gathering the party candidate from Udhampur D.R Atri has alleged that PDP, BJP and National Conference have been exposed for the emotional exploitation of the people during the recent turmoil in the Jammu and Kashmir state. Coming down heavily upon PDP, NC, BJP and the Congress for the recent crisis in the state, he blamed these for damaging the secular fabric of state. He appealed the people to vote in favour of party candidates in forthcoming assembly election to teach other parties a lesson.
