Sham Langer terms J&K Budget a boon for industries sector

JAMMU, Mar 18: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), Convener Industries and Trade Cell, Sham Lal Langer on Thursday welcomed the Jammu and Kashmir Budget 2021-22, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Langer said that the Budget will usher in a new era of development and will provide ample job opportunities to youth. He further said that Budget will boost the industries sector in Jammu and Kashmir. He informed that the Centre has announced several initiatives for developing infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
Citing a Budget document, Langer said that Rs 200 crore provisioned for development of New Industrial Estates in the Union Territory under Capex Budget 2021-22. He also informed about other provisions like Construction of Trade Centres with outlay of Rs 50crore, Rs 44.80 crore earmarked for development of new industrial estates at Mean Charkah (Samba), Karandi, Mearth Ghatti and Sahar Logate (Kathua) in Jammu Region.
“Food Parks at Sangyote, Near Kud, Pahlipora (Lar) and Chewa (Bandipora) to be established during 2021-22, three Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) to be constructed in the existing industrial areas at an estimated cost of Rs 20.47 crore and two IT towers one each at Jammu/Srinagar to be completed at a cost of Rs 100 crore,” he further informed.
Langer added that the centre also announced 7386 employment in industries sector. “A target of 1231 units under J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme involving Margin money of Rs 25 crore for 2021-22 with employment to 7386 persons,” he said. He further informed that the 456 investment proposals/MOUs have been received involving an investment of Rs 23000 crore.
“Rs 50 crore provisioned for Organizing J&K Global Investors Summit including domestic/ international road shows,” he added.
