| BPL list has more rich than poor: NBP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 26: Expressing concern over the plight of poor across the state, National Bahujan Party, has accused the successive state as well as central governments of anti poor policies. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, President National Bahujan Party (NBP), Dr. Satpaul has blamed the National Conference, Congress and Peoples Democratic Party for the miseries of poor across the state. He said that the successive governments have always been non serious about the eradication of poverty from the society. "Instead of poor, the number of rich in the BPL list is much more and their number increases as every government have tried to accommodate more and more keeping in view their vote politics," he added. He further said that the number of poor across the state was due to the bad policies of successive governments. The promises of political leaders with the people of the state have so far proved to be mirages as nothing has been done to alleviate the condition of poor in the state, he said. "The political parties soon after assuming power have left the poor people at the mercy of God but those very politicians will have to face the brunt as the people have become conscious about their rights," he added. |
