CB arrests accused history sheeter sarpanch
'Involved in fabricating fake PRC case'

JAMMU, Mar 18: Crime Branch Jammu has arrested an accused history sheeter Sarpanch, who was wanted in multiple cases including his involvement in fake PRC case.
According sources, accused Prabhakar Singh of village Kot, Tehsil & District, Jammu, originally West Pakistan Refugee hailing from Chak Santhal (Morha Shahpur) Tehsil & District Sialkote, Pakistan in case FIR of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in fabricating a fake PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) after hatching criminal conspiracy with the Revenue Authorities concerned.
The accused Sarpanch was wanted in 12 FIRs including seven cases in Gharota Police Station.
The accused is a notorious criminal and a history sheeter of Police Station Gharota. He is involved in twelve cases viz FIR No. 25/2020 U/S 447, 144, 109, 147/IPC, Sec.51 National Disaster Management Act, 2005 P/S Gharota, FIR No. 48/2007 U/S 458, 382, 342, 506, 120-B/RPC P/S Gharota, FIR No. 21/2005 U/S 365/RPC P/S Gharota, FIR No.65/2018 U/S 447-A/336/504/506/RPC P/S Gharota, FIR No. 38/2019 U/S 353/RPC 3 Kashmir Public (property prevention of damage) Act. PS Gharota, FIR No. 20/2013 U/S 307, 341,336, 34/RPC P/S Gharota, FIR No. 62/1989 U/S 379/RPC, FIR No. 130/1990 U/S 341 /RPC, FIR No. 135/1994 U/S 452/RPC, FIR No. 66/2000 U/S 379/RPC and FIR No. 163/2000 U/S 463/RPC.
He has also been accused of grabbing forest land by mowing down trees by use of heavy machinery for cutting and levelling. The accused was detained under PSA in Kot Bhawal Jail Jammu for his unlawful activities. Crime Branch Jammu approached the Court of Special Judge anti-Corruption, Jammu for his custody. Accordingly, the accused was arrested on 16.03.2021 after taking his custody from Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
The case owes its origin to a written complaint lodged by Munir Ahmed son Ahmed Din resident of Qtr. No. 2 Ahata Amar Singh, opposite old PHQ, Palace Road, Jammu, alleging therein that the accused Parbhakar Singh, Prem Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Deep Singh all sons of Late Lakhan Singh and Baby Bala daughter of late Lakhan Singh, were basically West Pakistan Refugees and in the year 1947 Jaggat Singh father of Lakhan Singh migrated to India and settled in Punjab where Punjab Govt. allotted him land in village Bela Tajowal Tehsil Garh Shanker Gurdaspur, Punjab and after the death of Jaggat Singh, Lakhan Singh sold his land and migrated to village Kot in Jammu where he managed a Permanent Resident Certificate for himself as well as his children by fraudulent means and got employment in Power Development Department.
The accused was a Sarpanch of Panchayat Halqa Kot when PSA was slapped against him. He was produced before the court and his Police remand has been sought for further investigation in the case.
