| Implement pay panel report: Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 26:Stressing for implementation of 6th Pay Commission recommendations in Jammu and Kashmir, the former union minister and senior BJP leader, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has criticized the state Governor for delaying the implementation although many of the states in the country have already implemented the recommendations. Prof Gupta recalled that some months back the ruling leaders of the Congress in the state had promised that Jammu and Kashmir would be the first state in the country to give effect to the recommendations of the 6th pay commission but regretted that the present dispensation of the Governor has put the matter under the carpet thus causing grave resentment among the state employees who are already feeling the pinch of inflation and sky rocketing prices. Prof Gupta impressed upon the state Governor to give effect to the pay panel recommendations and also enhance the emoluments of daily wagers keeping in view the hike in the prices of essential commodities. Referring to the complaints of PSU employees, the BJP leader observed that the Congress, the PDP and the NC during their tenure have made a mess of the public sector for their political and personal ends. About the plight of daily rated and need based employees, he pointed out that the Congress and its fellow travelers though talk much about socialism but the fact remains that they have been playing fraud with the poor and down trodden by raising hollow slogans. Their actual face is exposed from the fact that no increase has been made in the wages and salaries of the daily rated employees and casual laborers whereas the salaries of the legislators and ministers have been raised thrice during the last three years, he remarked. |
