| Deserter jawan hels with 2 AKs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
BANIHAL, Sept 26: Security forces and police arrested one army jawan and recovered two AK rifles from him in Ramban district last night, official sources said.
Sepoy Ranjeet Singh deserted 21 Rastriya Rifles (RR) camp in Baramulla area of north Kashmir.
The army then flashed a message, and police and security forces intercepted him on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Banihal area of Ramban last night, they said.
The jawan was taken into custody and two AK rifles and some magazines were recovered from him, they said adding that he was being investigated for his alleged links with Khalistan Zindabad Force. |
