| The legendary Dogra leader Pandit Prem Nath Dogra was born on 23 October 1894 at the village Smailpur about 22 km from Jammu city ,His father's name was Ananat Rai. Life of Panditji was full of various ups and downs but he by the virtue of his self-determination ,led the life toward his goal of service towards society and nation. Pandit Ji left for heavenly abode on 21st march 1973 with store house of moral values and virtues for us that we need to incorporate from Panditji's life and make ourself enrich.
Pandit ji as an ideal of Students:
In childhood Pandit ji with very charming personality and liked by all the teachers of the Middle School and high school from where they passed their matriculation examination in 1904. Mr Tideman ,their teacher was influenced by Pandit ji's grit and intelligence.So was the aura of young guy Prem Nath ,that in Matric examination, not only he got prize in English ,but also excelled in mathematics ,history and Persian language in addition to vernacular languages. Ideal students need to be dutiful, Obeying and always act on the advice of their teachers and elders,it was in the temperament of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra .Once Principal Dr. Eving saw the group of guys smoking cigarette , he said to Pandit ji "You are to do what I advice ,you are not not to do what I do" as Mr Eving himself smoked cigarette .Only these words and Pandit ji remain teetotaller all their life. No one knew at that time that this intelligent guy has great soul that is dutiful for the mother India. So seeing the school and college life of Pandit ji we can say"Good habits in the child hood can change the overall personality & give positive outcome of life."
Sports had life long mark in Pandit W's Vigour and Vigilance
"Sports are such a great teacher. they've taught me: camaraderie, humility, how to resolve difference" is true maxim and its highlighted in the Pt. Prem Nath Dogra's life. Pandit ji had great love for physical activities right from the child hood .Excelled in Athletics ,Football and Hockey,and Football, brought many sportsmanship values in the mind of pandit ji as he was the best football player of the college, Mr dependable of the college when it comes in winning the game for the prestige of college. Once the last minute goal of Pandit ji helped in winning the Match that was very tough that's why Dr. Eving ,the Principal said"Prem Nath ,you saved my honour and that of my college".Many sports trophies and certificate of Panditji at their home injammu reminds of "Pandit Prem Nath Dogra's rezendous with Sports and the acumen of winning" that inculcated indomitable attitude and strong Vigour
Administrator par excellence, his actions inspires us to perform well in our jobs
Pandit ji during their tenures as Administrator in different departments of Jammu Kashmir state as lent officer, Tehsildar, Deputy commissioner remained was one of the best officer in the administration .Work efficiency, ability and truthfulness made him the able officer ,grossly connected to people with the honesty . As D.C Muzaffarbad in 1931, a Muslim majority district Pandit ji with moral efficiency , demeanour and wider outlook controlled the situation arising of Quit Kashmir movement by Sheikh Abdullah amicably, without firing a single bullet or forced suppression .Sheikh Abdullah said in Dogra saddar sabha"Many thanks to Pandit ji for handling the muslim majority district Muzaffarbad with the effiecient governance "and showered lots of praise for Dogra Icon. Even after he was given voluntary retirement from Govt services in 1932 ,The Common people of region were dejected with this treatment across all regions of J&K as in one of the Kashmiri poet in Urdu Nazam Praised Panditji and said"

After the stint as govt employee and prematurely retired due to conspiracy ,Pandit ji became active member of dogra sadhar sabha ,quasi political organisation,then elected to Praja Parishad due to qualities of apparent outlook towards all castes and religions ,impartial service to the people ,Elected to JK Assembly for seven terms is all due to to the idealism ,love, empathy towards all people of walks of life . Due to his obligation he had placed himself in the heart of every person in Jammu and Kashmir. He, as politician refrained from adopting populist tactics ,Veteran and respected member of state assembly, Even as opposition member ,he had great rapport with the Cabinet members who revered him politically and personally.

Prof .Chaman lal said" Panditji is a spokesperson of Jammu whatever he says that is known to ve the voice of people of region. Self respect, confidence and pride in his own ability and worth, empathy towards the people,always ready to help anybody ,even if he is not supporter but detractor made him the person whom people love from core of heart. From Sangh chalak of RSS in JK Prant ,then Pradhan Sangh chalak to the President of Praja parishad, first political organisation sponsored by RSS ,fearlessly played all the roles and work for the ideas floated by Sangh and passing on to the people . People remember him as as the previous head of Jansangh .Working day and night for the the organisation selflessly and making the home as the office. Once someone asked Panditji "Don't so much rush of people at home obstruct your family and personal life . Panditji Replied"I feel delighted and joyous over the people trust on me in their eyes"
Pandit Prem Nath dogra Torch bearer of Anti separatism:
The Praja Parishad headed by Pandit ji was instrumental in opposing the narrative being worked by some forces in Kashmir to make JK the separate state, He coined the "Ek Nishaan,Ek Vidhan ,Ek Pradhan " to make the state inevitable part of India. Jailed many times for the work of bridging the gap between India and J&K.At the age of 75 again he was arrested in 1969 for taking part in agaitation against separatism under the flag of India.
